As we near the wedding, important decisions are emerging, such as the ever perplexing name change upon marriage. So many options these days – bride takes groom’s name, bride keeps bride’s name, groom takes bride’s name, a compromising hyphenated name, or perhaps even a totally new name.
Here were some options we thought of, and we wanted your opinion. No promises that we will take your opinion or not, but an entertaining exercise nonetheless.
We’re also open to other suggestions. Click the “Post a Comment” link below and voice your vote!

I like Tom Nguyen. :)
Christina Nguyen-White :)… It’s long so you might need to abbreviate or just get a really great fountain pen :) or stamp.
Christina Luckie!!! Come on who doesnt want to be a Luckie ;)
Beware! The mother-in-law is on “the line”! I love your updates and the love and excitement in every update! I’m sure you want, need, even crave my opinion: Mrs. Christina Nguyen White (no hyphen). Take your maiden name as your legal middle name so you take both names and don’t have the complications of a hyphen. Christina N. White would be your signature and when asked your middle name you give Nguyen. Jeanne D. White & Kathryn S. White preceed you..but you will be the most beautiful and talented Mrs. White in history! We are a very blessed family and Tom did a great job finding the perfect love of his life! ps Whatever name you choose is okay with me!
I went from Catherine Ngoc-Tran Nguyen to Catherine Nguyen Roush, no hyphen. The hyphenated name gets to be a pain. If you don’t change your name and stay Christina Nguyen, then when you have kids and go pick them up from school, everyone will think you are the nanny :)!
No hyphen! Think about the kids!
Looking back on it … I took my husbands last name and kept my middle name.
I think today I would use Christina Nguyen White…no hypen. That way you keep your family identity and gain a new one all in one.
That is just my thought… good luck!
Sherry
I kept my middle name to quyen but unfortunately, so many businesses and contacts automatically changed me to v nguyen dugan that it now creates mild paperwork confusion. So Christina nguyen white is my vote for you as well.
Team Keep That Name! ;-)
Take your man’s name, short & sweet, no confusion,
you won’t regret it.
